"jesse laughed, newborn autumn slashing his pink misted lips, like some flamingo clown" "Jesse flicking retinas over the road, salami black tar smoothing gelato pupils, he asked [...]" like. ok. the words are fun and sound kind of neat, but you can't just pull out interesting words and smash them together and hope that it will mean something. i love White Oleander (Janet Fitch), and the insane similes and descriptions. but... these just don't make any sense. on a positive note, I feel much more optimistic about someday being published!
Happily Sucked into the alter "Infra" Reality

Totally digging it. The pacing, the mystery - not just the plot, but the emotions and perceptions of the protagonist. Palpable texture and raw poetic phrasing. Rod Dakron has bona fide style. Infra is a great escape for all senses.
