Can diet become an effective tool to treat polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)?This study explores the impact of a moderate carbohydrate diet as a nutritional strategy to reduce the symptomatology of PCOS, a condition that affects between 5% and 10% of women of reproductive age. Through a qualitative and quasi-experimental approach, significant improvements in body weight, energy levels and symptoms such as hirsutism were observed. The results open new possibilities for the treatment of PCOS through nutrition, and suggest the need for future research with greater scope. A valuable contribution for health professionals, nutritionists and women seeking to improve their quality of life from a holistic approach.
