In the Lockhart Territory, in the land of Oblitus, a military general by the name Creighton Vordana is enjoying his retirement, starting a family with his wife Tanta, when he receives a letter containing a dire warning from the King of the territory, Samuel Stoen.

Creighton is warned that generals from King Stoen's Legion, the same army that Creighton served in, are turning up dead alongside many others under mysterious and brutal circumstances. However, the King is sparse with details, and instructs Creighton to not spread the word of these happenings, as it may reflect poorly on Stoen's reign.

It is now up to Creighton to try and get more information on these happenings, as well as discreetly prepare for a potential attack, while also reflecting on his checkered military past.
