In 1842, Tabitha Bishop, a woman that had been enslaved, fell in love with Louis Munroe, a man who had also been enslaved.

The man who had enslaved her, found out about this, and killed Louis with his vampire fangs before ripping him apart piece by piece. The only reason he didn't kill Tabitha was because she was carrying a child.

That's when she unleashed a curse upon the Munroes right after she would have her first son. They would become a supernatural hunter/huntress.
