The premise is that Man does not have an immortal component - no immortal soul - contrary to popular Christian doctrine. Man "must put on immortality" and, indeed, if doctrine is correct and belief in Christ means everlasting life, then there is an inconsistency, because those doomed to an eternity in Hell also have "everlasting life".
