On the night of May 7, 2024 (a warm Tuesday), Charles Burt and Omar Parker embarked on a mission to write a book in one night. Inspired by Ernest Hemingway's famous words, "Write drunk, edit sober," they settled in at The Rabbit Hole Pub in Fort Worth, Texas. Throughout the night, they took two Uber rides, devoured seven tacos, two quesadillas, and four churros, and bought a round of drinks for the entire bar in an effort to maintain rapport with the bar's regulars. Despite some missing haikus, Charles and Omar successfully completed their task and had enough content for a book. It was almost miraculous how they managed to pull it off.
