About this book....

Though we are well into the high-end technological era, the supply of micro-electronic controls is still below the demand. No industrial control system can be separated from the design of its circuits. Many kinds of performance electronic parts that are designed to handle high voltages were born as a consequence. Parts such as transducers, sensors, AC and DC motors, programmable logic controllers, etc, are all closely tied to industrial control systems. The focus of this book, therefore, understands industrial electronic control systems in related industries. The authors have incorporated microelectronics, electromechanical, power systems, robots, and work cells. As safety is also an important aspect, it is another focus in this book. It discusses the safety measures necessary in the work place. For every work place hides various potential dangers; the workers cannot be too careful. The authors have also taken into consideration the inexperience of their readership and consequently have indicated the basic concepts fathomable to us. The exercises at the end of each chapter also reinforce the readers' understanding of the content. The various indexes in the back of the book, such as one on silicon controllers rectifiers, power NPN silicon transistors, Zener Diodes and operational amplifiers, also provide the readers with a lot of convenience in understanding the book. Richness of the content and the care of the authors are, therefore, the two main reasons why I chose this book.

Thorough explanations

I attended DeVry Institute of Technology with Prof Greshock. He is extremely thorough and a wonderful teacher. The book is well written and in a concise format. His illustrations in the book and on the whiteboard are both well thought out and great examples. Overall, this is more than you expect, and all that you need.
