Induction of Labor at Term: Balloon vs. Dinoprostone

This study focuses on cervical ripening at term and compares two methods used at the Monastir Maternity and Neonatology Center: the extra-amniotic probe and Dinoprostone. Conducted on 100 patients divided into two groups, this descriptive and comparative study evaluated efficacy (time to delivery within 24 hours) and maternal-fetal tolerance (mode of delivery, complications, adverse effects). The results show that the extra-amniotic catheter offers similar efficacy to Dinoprostone, with good tolerability and a significantly lower cost, making it an attractive alternative in settings where access to prostaglandins is limited.
