A man was tasked with the gathering of notes and fragments. To bear witness. At some point during his search for meaning, he called out to something ancient. Improbably, it answered. Then everything lost its permanence. The reason he set out to gather the notes is now lost to him, along with the reason he called, like so many other things. Madness, loneliness, love, sorrow, and time are all settling into a groove deep in the cosmic wax, forming a meandering song. The Witness has surrendered himself to the chaos of it. Reality is malleable, though to attempt to shape it only brings him new questions without real answers. He decides to mull it all over while taking the long way round before he calls again.
