Book Overview

The No. 1 blockbuster movie Independence Day was only part of the story. After the alien invaders are downed and teams are sent out to find survivors, only some personal belongings of Dr. Brackish Okun, head scientist of Area 51, are found. Okun's story is amazing, yet completely believable. It begins in the 1970s when this CalTech genius arrives at Area 51 to work with the National Security Agency (NSA) and the CIA on the study of a downed spaceship retrieved from Roswell, New Mexico. But there is much more to the job than Okun realized. Soon, he begins to suspect that a massive government cover-up has successfuly buried all evidence of alien visitation throughout the years--a cover-up in which Okun is now an unwilling participant. His perseverance leads him to the truth behind the studies at Area 51, the government's fear of an alien invasion and a mysterious encounter in the Mexican desert at a place known as "La Manta de Silencia" The Silent Zone.

Must-read for any sci-fi fan, or a good book for any reader

Independence Day: Silent Zone takes place before the alien attack and is about research on the alien ship. Okun, a young and spirited scientist, gets hired to Area 51 to work on research. As all the scientists work, Okun finds a huge government cover-up to hide secrets, so work is limited.Silent Zone is a really good book. Its plot is incredible, and the writing style is easy to read. Okun, the protagonist, is an interesting character (interesting is to say the least...) He was written to be cool, and he does come off as that, for the most part. He also can be considered a nerd, but he's still cool. The other scientists at Area 51 are also interesting characters. The writing is descriptive, and that pays off to add detail to science fiction. That style also keeps the reader interested to read on.The prolouge, which takes place on July 5 after the attacks, is one of the best introductions I have ever read. It is also very descriptive, and is sets a very fun tone for the rest of the book. Once I read that, I realized that the book would be a really good one.I really suggest that you read this book. It is a read-and-read-again book, so I also suggest that you buy it. Read, and then enjoy.

THE BEST SCIENCE FICTION BOOK I EVER READ!

A book about Dr Okun's life in Area 51 before the events in the movie. Dr. Okun finds clues that leads him to the Silent Zone. There, he finds another spaceship that crashed a while ago. Before Okun can get help, some aliens come to earth and stop Okun's plans.
