Manuel Lee (Manny), a California military cadet, wakes up to find the U.S. engulfed in the middle of World War III. Red China and the European Union (EU) have invaded and Manny becomes a displaced refugee forced to work in a Chinese labor camp located in the heart of "Red" California. There, he finds other laborers who, like him, yearn to once again live free. However, they have nothing except a secret radio which exposes them to a broadcast that changes their lives forever. They are selected for a momentous task that if they choose to accept will either lead to certain death or eventual freedom.
