In Too Deep Book

Excellent book, suspenseful, a definite page turner. This book is among the many great books by Tina Wainscott. I have read several books by her, and absolutely loved each one. The story is about a young woman who suffers a tragic loss and is taken in by a wealthy family. She learns of a disfigured girl and wants to help her, and ends up not knowing who to trust in this tale of deception and murder. Highly recommend all of her books. Received in perfect condition, and quick and easy transaction.

Winslow Talbot's life is in danger from someone who wants to shut her up, permanently. Winslow Talbot is a writer for a society magazine that steps in to help a young Cuban girl who was disfigured in a hit-and-run boating accident. Winslow knows what an injury like that can do to a person's life since she was also disfigured when she was a young girl and went through the windshield after a car accident where her father was killed. While trying to find her stepsister Ashlyn, who was hiding from her fianc?, Winslow runs into Alex D?az, a reporter who knew the Cuban girls family and would be able to help her look into the story by giving her information. Soon, Winslow discovers startling information that her soon to be brother-in-law may be behind the boating accident and she will do anything possible to prove who was behind it and get justice for the young girl. Winslow is soon embroiled in the investigation and finds herself alone. Her stepfather Grant and Ashlyn both believe that she is only out to get Jayce due to the fact she is jealous of him and Ashlyn getting married. Alex is trying to help Winslow in her investigation and to keep her safe, but with their relationship growing closer and her lying to him, it is hard on both of them. Can Winslow learn to open up to Alex and let him see her real self? Will Winslow ever be able to solve the boating mystery and put her family back together? Will their relationship be fractured by the danger around them? In Too Deep is a passionate and adventurous journey through lies, betrayal, and loss. This suspenseful tale kept me on my toes and had me wanting to shout out at the characters, and I find that any book that can bring out that strong of a reaction is a top rated book worthy of reading. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Alex and Winslow develop and thought that the family dynamics added a touch of realism to the book. I found In Too Deep to be a fantastic story to curl up with and would highly recommend it to any readers looking for a great suspense that will keep you turning the pages with intense characters and a gritty story line. Lovers of romantic suspense will enjoy!

Winslow Talbot knows that people consider her to be beautiful, but she believes that's only because they can't see the scars left by a terrible car accident. She cleverly hides these scars, never letting anyone see the real Winslow behind her "mask" and the society life she leads as the step daughter of powerful man currently running for governor. But when her step sister, Ashlyn, introduces Winslow to her new fiancée, Jayce, alarms go off in Winslow. There is just something about him that doesn't feel right to Winslow. When a hit and run boating accident leaves another young girl with facial injuries, clues lead Winslow to believe that Jayce may have had something to do with it. When she acts on her suspicions, Winslow never expects her whole family to turn against her. Now she's on the outside, trying to save her sister from man who Winslow is convinced is hiding a dangerous past. This brings Winslow into contact with Miami newspaperman, Alex Diaz. Alex is not the kind of man who has time for spoiled society women, but the more time he spends with Winslow, the more he realizes that there is depth to her. As they rush to find out exactly what Jayce is hiding, they begin to fall in love. But can Winslow ever trust Alex enough to let him see her true face, scars and all? And can they force Winslow's family to accept the truth about Jayce before it's too late? In Too Deep is another well written romantic suspense by Tina Wainscott. Alex Diaz may be her best hero to date. Sexy, romantic, and protective Alex is all the things I look for when I pick up a romance. He certainly made me want to read more! Winslow was a character that was finally coming to terms with her fears, something that made me connect with her all the more. The only aspect of the story which I found a little disturbing was Winslow's family's inability to see past Jayce. I might expect Ashlyn to have been blinded by love, but her father was supposed to be a rich, powerful, political man and I thought he would have be a little more cynical when it came to fortune hunters. However none of that detracted from the story, which I truly enjoyed. I am happy to recommend In Too Deep to readers of romantic suspense! Melissa Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

strong South Florida crime thriller

When Dazzle Society Magazine columnist Winslow Talbot hears of the boating incident on Biscayne Bay, her heart goes out to the badly injured and disfigured American-Cuban child Elena Garcia, whose Uncle Luis died when a speed boat ripped through their fishing vessel. As a teen, Winslow underwent construction surgery following a devastating car accident. Over the objection of her step-father to stay away from the lowlifes, Winslow believes strongly she needs to help the child. She investigates the incident, which takes her deep inside the Cuban exile community. Her family demands she back off; her boss says her inquiry has nothing to do with her society column so she must stop, the Miami police investigating the incident warn her to desist even visiting the neighborhood that is dangerous for a wealthy outsider; only a killer wants her to continue because the plan is to murder her soon. Though a journalist, when it comes to hard boiled investigation especially of a crime, Winslow is an obsessed amateur, who knows she should heed the advice she gets but feels an affinity with Elena that makes her want to help the child and uncover the truth. Winslow's obstinacy makes the who-done-it fun to follow as she agrees with her sisters, her editor, the cops, and others that she is making herself a target, but her gut refuses to let go as she knows first hand what the trauma of Elena's injuries does to the psyche. Fans of amateur sleuth tales will appreciate this strong South Florida crime thriller. Harriet Klausner
