When I left that night to pick my son up from the airport, all was quiet. By the time I got back, all hell had broken loose. Nothing could have prepared me for what was happening and what would come. I've been through fires before. Earthquakes. Train crashes. Community tragedies. But I've never been through anything quite like the Sonoma County fires. Some might say they tore the city apart.
