I highly recommend this inquisitive and thought-provoking book to anybody. Barkemeyer captivated me from the first page and I could not put down this book. I hope that Barkemeyer keeps us going with more stories like this, as it is one of the best books I have ever read!

Like another reviewer, I didn't want to put the book down, though it was very different from anything I've read lately. It was an unusual story written with vivid characters and settings. I'm curious whether there will be a sequel soon or other works by the author. He has an uncommon quality to his writing. I'll look forward to it!

A very interesting book taking many twists and turns. It keeps your interest and does not drag at any point. It is a quick read, but well worth it.
A Must Read!

I made the mistake of starting this book when I didn't really have time to read it...and THEN...I couldn't put it down!! It was filled with twists and turns that kept you on the edge of your seat. I LOVED it and I can't wait to read more of this author's works.
In the Wink of an Angel's Eye

"In the Wink of an Angel's Eye" is thought-provoking and entertaining. The plot almost never slows, yet constantly saturates the reader with the overarching question of the novel: Who am I? Indeed, the focus of its main character - James - is to discover this truth by, seemingly, whatever means possible. And he does, while at the same time leading the reader through his exotic, if not eccentric, lifestyle. The author has a penchant for absurdism in his answer to this most profound question (who am I?), and sometimes relies too heavily on the assumption that his lack of an explanation means that there isn't one - leaving some answerable questions dangling. Nevertheless, this book is an excellent read; very entertaining and intriguing.
