Story happen in future somewhere near year 2100. Amish population in USA have grown to almost 10 millions, making majority of population in large swathes of rural land, even in some states they are single largest ethnic and religious group. While in early 21st century they started adopting some of modern technology, it become more of trouble so most of those changes were reversed by Bishops and elders of comunity. Their life at the beginning of 22nd century is almost same as 100 or 200 years ago but world drasticaly changed. Society is more conflicted than ever and new technologies are shaping everyday life. Rare but unenvitable encounters with this world make Amish anxious and frightened.
