Really nice book. Size 11" by 13"

This is a nice book by American chef, Neil Connolly, with his memories of working for Senator Edward Kennedy and for his mother Rose Kennedy and organizing meals for them and the big Kennedy clan and their friends during the Summer and other holidays at Hyannis Port. A great recipe for Meat Loaf and nice soup recipes. A tasty Mango-Pineapple cabbage slaw mix. Herbed mushroom soup. Fish chowder. Rich tomato soup. Rich corn chowder. Cauliflower soup. Dilled Carrot Soup. A bit too much cream and butter though in the recipes. One can leave them out if one wishes. Some nice roast chicken recipes. He suggests buying organic chicken if at all possible. Potato salad made with cup diced onions and 2 hard boiled eggs. Yummy recipe for classic Apple pie. All in all a nice and nice quality book for anyone wanting to add to their Kennedy book collection. First published in 2007. Since then Senator Edward Kennedy and his daughter Kara have died. Senator Kennedy from a brain tumour and his daughter Kara, who had survived cancer, died suddenly and tragically of a heart attack a year or two after him. This book is about nice times when the Kennedy clan gathered at their lovely homes in a shared compound near the town of Hyannis Port in the late 80s to mid 90s when Neil was there as their main chef at Rose's home. Jackie Kennedy sometimes would be at family gatherings. And she would visit Rose in the Summer. Jackie was to die later of cancer around 1994 or 1995. Aged 63 or 64. Rose outlived her to over 100 years old.

Buy it!

I bought this book as one of our prizes for out annual 4th of July races. I skimmed it and copied a few recipes before placing it on the prize table. Wonderful stories with every recipe. The three recipes I made have been excellent. The meatloaf is the best I've tasted and easy to make. I plan on ordering another copy for myself and trying more recipes.

I live about ten miles from the compound and own over 2,000 cookbooks and this is one of the best I've ever seen. It has receipes that are easy to follow with ingredients that are readily available and is both current and traditional. It's the best addition to my collection in a long time.

Fabulous Craftmanship!

It is apparent that a tremendous amount of work went into the development of this book. The pictures and narration is eloquent and extremely vivid. It's a wonderful book to have around the house for guests to look through and spark conversations, and for hosts to refer to for food preparations. This book is truly amazing!

Unbelievable Book!!

The recipes are easy to follow, and would make a lasting impression at any party or get together. I highly recommend this book for a gift or just to add to your collection!!
