In a dystopian London, plagued with exploitation, terror, civil war, and rebellion, Raine is expected to make a choice. She's escaped it thus far, but when living on the sidelines is no longer an option, and an unexpected turn of events leads her down a road she could never have imagined, Raine is ultimately forced to pick a side... It's the mid-2050s and the UK is being governed by the BFP, a far-right wing party bent on restoring Great Britain's former sovereignty. All the while, World War 3 rages in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, threatening to come ever closer to home with every passing day. Rain lives in a safe region within the heart of London, and she keeps her head down as she navigates life amongst the daily turmoil of a totalitarian society. She obediently works at The Diminishing Rights Bureau, the place you're sent too when your rights have been revoked, and you are no longer deemed useful to society. She gets home before curfew, and does her best not to ruffle any feathers. But it's been four long years since Raine's twin brother Ryan was enlisted, and sent off to fight in World War 3, and life hasn't been the same since. Now the BFP have suddenly announced that another squadron of heroic troops have safely returned to UK soil, after having been forcibly stolen away in their youthful prime. But Raine knows that the fascist BFP Party cannot be trusted. So, will Ryan be among them? Or worse still, is he even alive? Unfortunately, Raine quickly discovers that Ryan is the least of her worries. When recons show up at her family's home, her entire world is flipped upside down, and she suddenly realizes that her life will never ever be the same again.
