In the Beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Before what we see now there was nothing. The whole universe was empty and dark. And before that, there was no universe at all… until the Father dreamed a dream.Max Lucado's story tells of a fictional conversation between the archangel Michael and God. In the story Max creatively describes how God dreamed of mountains, waterfalls and oceans, pretty flowers and towering trees, but He didn't stop there. The Father dreamed of creepy, crawly creatures and majestic, monstrous animals. He dreamed of every single living thing and created them all, but even then He didn't stop. Not yet.Even after all this, the Father had one more thing to create, the most important thing of all. So He reached into His own heart and pulled out little pieces of His beautiful self and shaped them into His children. He created you and me and made us in His image. And He said it was good.
Max Lucado wrote this incredibly moving book about a possible conversation between Archangel Michael and God before He created the world. Michael listens avidly as God describes the wonders He will create, shows the shining part of Himself that will live in every human, displays glimpses of His future Glory..and warns of the tragedy that will steal His children away from Him. Yet, even then there is Hope; the Lord already knows the Gift He'll give His children to remember Him and rejoin Him. Even before the world is Created, while it still existed only in God's Heart, He was prepared for the chain of tragedies and triumphs that His children would bring and the ultimate victory that would keep them close to Him. The story here is simply amazing and heart-wrenching, complimented perfectly by the stunningly gorgeous illustrations. The illustrator of this book is phenomenal, and it is possibly the most beautiful piece that I own. Whoever you are, this book is for you. Our Father is waiting and always watching, letting us know that there's still a way back to Him.
Beautiful!

Max Lucado's writing flows so easily and really touches the heart. This book is no exception. The imagery his words create are as powerful as the pictures. Wonderful depiction of our Lord's creation.
