LeChristine Hai does a wonderful job of bringing us into her world as she describes life as an orphan during the Vietnam war who suddenly finds herself in America. Two very different worlds, but the war she experienced in the United States was more devistating than the one she left behind in her native country. Bring tissues for this quick read, and learn how strong the human spirit can become to overcome the hard knocks that life can dish out to any one of us.
