Can You Hear Me Now?

IN SPEECH AND IN SILENCE, THE JEWISH QUEST FOR GOD is a gift to spiritual seekers of any faith with an inquiring mind and open heart. This work is best read as a meditation, a little bit at a time with room in between for its lessons to germinate. Employing legend, biography, tragedy and his own sometimes heart wrenching experiences, Rabbi Wolpe informs his writing with Biblical stories, most often colorfully amplified with additions from the Midrash. These teachings are not only thought provoking but touch the heart in a way that keeps the reader invested, anxious and eager to learn more. The purpose of this book is to bring to the reader and awareness of the types of prayer and their purposes and effects. There could be no better instructor in matters relating to prayer than Rabbi Wolpe. His own words best describe this book: "wisdom is the ability to frame understanding in words." I might add that all of Rabbi Wolpe's other writings are presented in such a way as to make the lessons originating thousands of years ago accessible and applicable to the individuals life today. An eminently readable book to be kept close at hand. It will call to you!
