In Search of George Alfred tells the story of one woman's determination to discover the truth about her father's family. Abandoned by his father at the age of four in the Lakeland town of Kendal, Brian was left destitute with his stepmother and younger sisters. His stepmother was deaf, unable to communicate and had no permanent home. The authorities, alerted to their cause by the Lodging-House owner, searched for the abandoned boy's father, but he was never found. It took many years of difficult family history research using tradtional and modern methods of Genealogy, to discover that the disappearance of George Alfred in 1939, was not the only secret in the family.
