Uncle Joe, to me and to a host of other nieces and nephews, was a child of the depression, a veteran of World War II, an educator, a self-proclaimed vagabond, a husband and father, a churchman, an entrepreneur, and a storyteller, among other things. These memoirs are for anyone who is interested in a life well-lived. Now in his ninety-eighth year, he has well earned the right to publish his story for the benefit of all who know him, love him and come after him. If you enjoy these offerings as much as I have, then this effort will have accomplished its purpose.
