Interesting read

In Bushveld and Desert: A Game Ranger's Life by Christiaan Bakkes is an interesting read in which Bakkes tells of many of his often harrowing adventures while learning and performing his duties as a ranger in South Africa. The famous Kruger National Park is one of the places he patrols, rescuing animals and humans, tracking and stopping poachers, surviving crocodile hunts and enormous hail storms unprotected, and many other escapes. It is an interesting, adventuresome read respendent with the Afrikander lingo. You'll enjoy this, especially if you intend to travel on a safari into the bushveld. You'll gain appreciation of the dangers that lurk and of those who keep tourists and the wildlife safe.
