Cute, Informational Book,

If you ever wonder where the silly sayings like "your eyes are bigger than your stomach" or "straight from the horses mouth" come from, you must get this book. Filled with many examples, accompanying cute illustrations, and a detailed explanation of what the idiom means and where it came from is all included in this short, but sweet book.

Great for kids!

This was a fun, little idiom book. It would be great for kids, and I enjoyed the illustrations (despite the opinions of the other reviewers). It definitely is good for a few hours of fun with your child, and I would have given it five stars if it wasn't so short. Nonetheless, it is a really fun book by one of the leading authors in the idiom book market. Enjoy! Great & Funny Idioms!

I love this book! It helps me to teach idioms in my EFL classroom in a much more interesting way. The drawings are very understandable and students have a nice time looking at them.

Idioms

My fifth-grade students loved this. I kept it on the counter and watched them use it many times while writing, and I enjoyed seeing them have fun with language.

In a Pickle and Other Funny Idioms

This is helping our child understand when we and other adults use idioms while it expands her vocabulary. My 5 year old (who reads on a 3rd grade level) loves it and reads it as a joke book while leaning things far ahead of her time. Terban includes the origin of the idiom and the cartoon picture drives home the message. This is a reference just a necessary as a dictionary.
