Chapter 1 Tada Art Shop smoothly entered the new year, in other words, without any special changes. The art shop founded by Tada Keisuke in Mahoro City was not swept away by the economic boom, but flew low and still managed to increase its profits. It did not hit the jackpot, but it won the trust of its customers through its slow and steady work ethic. As proof, on the reception desk of the office located in the dilapidated apartment building, there were piles of all kinds of stewed mixed vegetables, fish rolls, sake... Those items were given by customers everywhere with a sentence like: "Hey Tada, you two guys probably haven't bought anything for Tet yet, right? Eat these, you need to relax during Tet. Happy New Year!" It felt more like pity than proof of trust, but oh well, it was still pretty good. Mahoro is located in the southwest of Tokyo, the largest satellite city with a population of about 300,000. Mahoro Station, where the JR Hachioji Line and the Hakone Limited Express Line (commonly known as Hakokyu), intersect, has shopping centers located close together in front of the station, and the commercial district is also quite bustling. It takes thirty minutes to get to Shinjuku by Hakokyu, so large apartment buildings for young families and office workers are springing up one after another.
