Rivkah Einholz, a young Jewish dancer, adopts a stage name and becomes a featured dancer with the ballet company in Strasbourg. She advances to the Paris Op?ra Ballet just before the Second World War. During the Occupation, she joins a small touring company that is assisting French Resistance forces. Her career is cut short and she is taken in by a resistance cell that plays a role in the Normandy invasion. Along the way she discovers an unknown piece of her family history, one that will affect her entire life.
