The film trade is a means of establishing cultural and economic links with other countries. As neighbouring countries, Germany and France quickly began exchanging films, and following the establishment of the European Union, these transactions were protected and promoted. Unfortunately, the future of European cinema is not secure due to the strength of the US competition.
