Impact of Herbals in Wound Infection

Wound infections caused by the bacteria and fungi leads to complications in the infected area which increases disease incidence and morbidity. Present study involves isolation of pathogens from post operative and diabetic wounds. Three herbal plants with therapeutic potential were used to prepare extract in different solvents such as ethanol, acetone and water to cure wound infections. These solvent extracts show considerable inhibitory activity against the isolated wound infection caused by the pathogens. Maximum use of natural medicine from herbals can be a remedial measure to avoid drug resistance in pathogens causing wound infection.
