Predicted by prophecy, a powerful little girl begins to understand her magic, while her parents and mentors attempt to protect her from the "Guardians" that hunt her. My name is Imi Stoglin and my story is strange to say the least. I was raised in a world so sheltered that it made my sixteenth birthday seem like the greatest adventure. My parents were so protective of me it really gave me a sense of only belonging in their world. I was given all the luxuries of life including the finest schools and governesses to help me develop and control my gifts. My governesses consisted of only family and school consisted of the White Witch's School of Spirits and Knowledge. I did get to attend regular school when I entered high school. I very rarely got to go out with friends only on very carefully approved occasions and with very carefully approved friends, but I prefer solitude anyway it is where I am most comfortable. Solitude is the medium in, which I have been raised and I swim comfortably there. I excelled in school, my studies were important to me as I loved to read and learn, but in my social life I was backward not knowing exactly what to say and when. In all honesty the girls in my classes terrified me especially the tough talking chain smokers and the girls in the gangs. I always felt out of place, like my dress was either too long or to short. Boys mystified me even though I dreamed of a tall dark haired handsome stranger that would one day rescue me from this life, but I have to admit I was happiest when I was in my father's library, which was a large, elegant room on the first floor of our huge house. I loved the smell of leather and many of my father's furnishings were leather and many of the old books were bound in leather. One night, when I was unable to sleep, I wondered into my father's library to get something to read, when a book on the top shelf caught my eye. I grabbed the ladder and slid it to the shelf that contained the book that caught my eye. I climbed the ladder and grabbed the book. As I descended the ladder I dropped the book. There on the floor lay yellowing letters all in envelopes. The image that I saw and the smell of age that rose from the center of the book intrigued my curiosity. I had to open the letters. Why this book on this night, I have no idea, but what I found inside sent me on a hunt for the truth. When I opened the first yellowing letter it told of the chosen one and how she was born. This story resembles the story of my life. I'll let you be the judge. I'll start at the beginning of my existence, so you get to know more about me, my life and how the letters told my story and what I was sent to do, thousands of years before my birth.
