Image Registration (IR) is a fundamental technique in computer vision and image processing, enabling the alignment of images from different viewpoints, time instances, or sensing modalities. This book provides a comprehensive exploration of IR, with a special focus on multisensor satellite imagery and its role in applications such as environmental monitoring and global change analysis.It outlines the theoretical foundations and challenges of multisensor and multi-temporal data, where variations in illumination, resolution, and sensor characteristics complicate accurate alignment.
