Very helpful - great reminders on how a 2-year-old thinks

Of my many parenting books for this age group, this is my favorite. I know how to discipline, I know all about sleep needs, I understand nutrition. But this book reminds me of just how young my daughter is, just how much she still doesn't understand, just how big and confusing the world must be to her. When I have a problem, this book helps me see it from her point of view and helps remind ME that she is only two. It helps remind me that discipline and time-outs are not always the best answer to every situation - sometimes a little love and understanding, of helping her adjust rather than forcing her to do so, go a long way.
a wonderful guide to a challenging age

This book quickly, clearly and simply explains those challenging situations I find with my 2 year old. I enjoy reading about the topics from the point of view of my child, as I'm constantly wondering what is going on in her mind. Almost all the questions I have about how to best respond to her and help her are covered in this book, and I find the advice to be useful and accurate--it works for my two year old and me!
An easy and fun read; enlightening for parents of 2s

An entertaining and enlightening book, written from the point of view of a two year old. In short chapters sorted by subject (e.g. "tantrums", "socks", etc.) the author explains why two year olds act so "weird" sometimes. As a mother of two-year old twins on the verge of being driven crazy, I found it instructive. It has actually made me more understanding of some of the seemingly irrational reactions I get from my kids.
Excellent advice about parenting as told from a child's view

I recently received the book, "I'm Two Years Old!" written by Dr. Jerri Wolfe. It is an excellent book which gives parents tips on how to discipline/guide their child. The book is told from the child's point of view. As a parent, it is easy to only see a situation from our point of view and not take into consideration what the child is feeling. Dr. Wolfe explains what two year olds are doing developmentally and incorporates age appropriate ways to guide the child. Dr. Wolfe discusses everything from eating to spanking to tantrums. The book has been a help to me. Positive parenting is something most of us strive for. This book looks at some of the difficulties of raising a two year old and brings out positive ways to guide a child and set healthy limits. It is a must for all parents!!!! Happy Parenting! An insightful peak into the mind of a two year old.

To teach (discipline) a child, a parent must try to understand situations from a child's perspective. Only then can we do teaching that is meaningful. Jerri Wolfe has done a masterful job of giving us a sneak peak into many life situations as seen through the unique eyes of a 2 year old. So many times parents say, "If I just knew what s/he is thinking, if I just knew why s/he is doing this." Jerri Wolfe has given us a peak at what the 2 year old is thinking and what they need. This book should make this perplexing part of parenting, understanding a 2 year old, so much more clear.
