Representing work that spans my college career, "I'm Talking" is my first collection of poems, short stories, letters, and anecdotes. The line between reality and delusion is blurred: In the short story "Baseball House," I step outside of my comfort zone (and dorm room) but can't seem to stay out of my mind. In "Paranoid Personality Disorder," I rhyme about auditory and visual hallucinations. Matters of the heart are mostly unhealthy, and at times dangerous. By the end of "Basement Babe," you'll want to spend some time outside just appreciating the warmth of the sun on your skin. In the short story "Wasted," I exaggerate a way more interesting summation of a real life disastrous adulation. Waters run cold as I lose track of time after a harsh breakup in "Shower." And in "Bathroom," you'll think again about rationalizing the familiarity of a bad time, or at least think about the last time you washed the laundry. Melodramatic, melancholic, poignant, and hopefully at times humorous, these pieces are a reflection and embodiment of all that I have accomplished and endured during my time at West Liberty University.
