I am a college student, and considering that there is not a lot of information given about exactly what happened during the Holocaust in our college history classes, I was absolutely amazed at this autobiography of a child surviving during the Holocaust. We need more awareness about this subject. (especially for young people like myself) Chava's diary sent me from complete shock at times to amazement about how she survived. We think that we have problems today, but compared to a child who's mother was shot to death by the Nazi's and she and her sister had to survive through the Holocaust being hungry, cold, abused, tormented as child workers and still be teenagers when it was all over, makes our lives seem trivial in comparison. I could not believe some of the horrid ways the german Nazi's treated everyone, including handicapped children, or old people, and the sick. It left an impression on me that will stay with me for a lifetime. I intend to make sure that my children are educated on this subject.......and all racially and inhuman acts in this world. This should never happen again to any human beings anywhere!Sheli Steele Canyon, Texas
