I'm Not Alone Anymore: Mary, My Mother, Help Me to See God's Love for Me Today

At nine years old, meningitis struck Patrick Martin, leaving him both blind and physically disabled. With the faith and help of a loving family, close friends, and others in his northern Maine town, however, he not only successfully made it through school but went on to become a Roman Catholic priest.
Father Pat has spent his whole life marveling at how God has turned each of his sufferings into a gift, and in I'm Not Alone Anymore , his sixth book, he shares the heartwarming and oftentimes humorous story of a prayer that helped take his blind eyes off himself and refocus them on others. "God called me," he says, "to give to others what I have received." He invites readers to join him in asking, "Mary, mother of our savior, help us to see God's love for us today "

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Father Pat, the seventeenth of twenty-two children in his family, lived a "normal" life until he was nine years old. Then meningitis struck, landing him in the hospital for five months and leaving him both blind and physically disabled for the rest of his life. His was not a life to be pitied, however. With the faith and help of his dear parents, brothers and sisters, public school teachers, parish priests, and others in his northern Maine town, he went through school long before the mainstreaming of the handicapped was ever conceived. He became a teaching Brother, a librarian, and eventually, a priest "God called me," he says, "to give to others what I have received." One of his favorite quotes is "If you get lemons, you make lemonade " He never blamed God for his sufferings but has spent his whole life marveling at how God turns each of his sufferings into a gift. He calls God "the master recycler."
