An interesting book of verse for children expressing anger..
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
William Cole's collection of children's verses from authors such as Shel Silverstein and Arnold Spilka, show how children express their anger and childlike hostility towards their peers, and even parents, through the use of verse instead of using their fists. Lines such as "I'm so mad I could spit," and "Phony old Tony Baloney, goodbye!" add a childs charm and wit. Although rude, and almost unbeleivable at times, the verses are charming, fun and silly to read. Also adding to the books flair, are the pencil illustations done by George MacClain, which depict the children in side splitting poses. Screams, tempertantrums, crying, angelic faces, and down right silly expressions add to the verses witty subjects. The age group that would most likely appricate it would be between the ages of 6 and 11.
