Picking up a pencil and writing legibly requires good motor skills--and that's what this workbook helps build. It focuses on the coordination necessary to write properly by giving children words and letters to copy, as well as helpful information on how to form each letter.
This book is just a matter of tracing each letter a few times, and then writing it over and over on some blank lines. There is also a small section on writing basic numbers. No exercises, activities, etc. I just wanted my son to practice his hand-writing, so this was fine with us, but if you are expecting anything else, look at something like Lowercase Alphabet or Kumon: My First Book of Lowercase Letters.
