This book does a great job of covering the essentials of what you can expect when attempting to start your own small business. I was very impressed at the author's ability to invoke deep introspection and self evaluation. While reading the book, I became continuously aware of both my strengths and weaknesses. The style of the book is light, concise and full of humorous anecdotes. Any small business owner can benefit from this book. I highly recommend it.

I was given my first copy of "I'm Finally In Business for Myself... NOW WHAT?" as a gift when I ventured out to open my own CPA practice. I found the information contained in this book to be so valuable and applicable that I keep a stock of copies to give as a gift to my new small business clients. Mike Sandy differentiates this book by focusing less on abstract modern business theory, and more on real world issues and the "nuts & bolts" fundamentals of entrepreneurship...found only in the trenches of beginning, owning and operating a small business. An easy, worthwhile and must read for any small business owner.

Survival Guide

Mike Sandy has provided a survival guide to the small business person. Don't go into business without having read it, and keep it close by at all times while IN business! As others have said, it's very funny and down to earth. It provides invaluable guidance. You can tell that Mike Sandy understands what makes a business not only succeed, but endure. He is able to impart to us that all important alchemy of good management skills, good practical and technical ideas, and good people skills. He can help us discern if our business model is structurally sound. But what I find most refreshing is that Mike "gets" that human nature is at the heart of all business successes AND failures. He humorously teaches all of us how to get over ourselves, get out of the WAY of ourselves, to build our skill set, trust ourselves and reinforce our strengths and GO FOR IT! Basically, he's teaching us all how to succeed. Personally, Mike's principles, suggestions, and stories are helping me tremendously so I highly recommend the book. Buy it!
