MICHAEL GRINTER started his career as a school teacher but spent most of his career teaching adults. He worked in industry, local government and even had a spell as Education Officer in a prison. He wrote on and off throughout his life and had articles published in several, high profile, national UK magazines. The last 17 years of his career from 1987 to 2004 were spent travelling all over the country principally running and tutoring retirement courses for some of the UK's largest multi-national companies. He estimates that almost 10000 people attended these events so when he retired in 2004 he was determined to put his theories into practice. This book is the result: a thoughtful reflection on the perils, joys and experiences of retirement to which many people will relate.
