I'M A Failure

I suck at life...Well that's not entirely true. I suck at being me, at prioritizing my needs and living in a way that brings me joy and true purpose and meaning. Yeah, that sounds accurate. Most of the time, I am who everyone expects me to be; Husband, Caregiver, Dad, Granddad, Financial advisor, religious counselor, Cook, Janitor, Landscaper, Business owner...You get the idea. However, the one thing that no one expects me to be is Me. In fact, being me is greeted with less than echoing adoration. Perhaps that is because it has been so long since I was me that they too have forgotten who I am (or was).
The cover of this book bares the title of "I am a Failure". It's a long way from the positive mindset frou-frou that is a part of our modern culture, but it stands as the feeling behind my perspective of life. Whether that feeling is right or wrong, doesn't really matter much. What matters is that I am aware that I am a failure.
