A guide to creating whimsical watercolor flowers.

I found this one on sale at Hobby Lobby. I had been interested in it for a while. . . I didn't realize that it was a Walter Foster publication. I might not have gotten it if I had noticed. Walter Foster books have a bad habit of looking VERY PROMISING, and then ALMOST telling you how to follow along with the artist. . . This one is no different, but I do like it. After years of drawing, painting, and reading about art, this one clicked. It has photos of 16 different flowers. She shows how she has drawn her outline with a pencil, and then outlines with a fine line ink pen. She then splashes watercolor paint on the paper in a whimsical fashion. I think what I find so inspiring about this book is the fact that she didn't attempt any drawing until 2017. She liked what she did, started to teach her friends, and 5 years later has a how to book on watercolor flowers. (She has also illustrated a children's book!) I figured that if she could do it, so could I. I am doing the pictures my own way and having a wonderful time. ( Anyone looking to improve their botanical drawing should look elsewhere.)
