When the demon Hiranyaksha pushed the Earth into the deep cosmic ocean, Lord Vishnu took the form of a mighty boar (Varaha) with shining tusks. He fought a fierce battle with the demon, defeated him, and then gently lifted the Earth on his tusks. Varaha placed the Earth back in the universe, restoring balance and protecting all living beings.
