Kurma Avatar - The Tortoise Incarnation
Lord Vishnu's second incarnation was Kurma, the giant tortoise.
During the great event of Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean), the gods and demons wanted to get the nectar of immortality. They used Mount Mandara as the churning rod and the serpent Vasuki as the rope. But the mountain began to sink into the ocean
To save the world, Lord Vishnu took the form of a mighty tortoise and held the mountain on his strong back. With His support, the churning continued, and many wonderful treasures came out of the ocean, including the nectar of immortality.
The Kurma Avatar shows how patience, balance, and support can help overcome even the biggest challenges.
