Illumination

'The point is that there is no point.'

Archer Swamp, former stand-up comedian, now reverend of the 'church of fall down'. They all came to worship him, loathe him and sometimes hurt him. He didn't care, none of them could prevent the death of laughter, that was the only thing he lived for.

It wasn't until Tuesday Wells that anything outside of himself mattered at all.

Night after night he stood under the burning stage lights of 'The Tragic', under the watchful eye of Tom Bones, owner and former middle weight champion who spent his days lamenting the price of past glory. Alcohol and cigarettes their only bond.

'It's not what people think that matters Swamp.' 'It's what they remember?'

'You'd be surprised at how little time they actually do spend thinking about you.'

It was Bones who had to deal with the clones, the fanatics and Swamp look a likes and it was Bones who brought them together the night he hired Tuesday Wells; the girl running away from her dreams, to pour drinks at 'The Tragic.'

It was Tuesday Wells who Swamp turned to on that fateful night he was left with blood on his hands. It was Tuesday Wells who had expected to be saved but on this night she was the one cast as saviour.

"Illumination" follows a dream-like path and displays a sense of melancholy humour in a similar vein to Milan Kundera.
