Book Overview

"It certainly filled the Battlestar Galactica-shaped hole in my heart." -- Victoria Aveyard, bestselling author of The Red Queen Read the New York Times bestselling blockbuster that critics are calling "out-of-this-world awesome." The first in an epic sci-fi series unlike anything else out there. Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the worst thing she'd ever been through. That was before her planet was invaded. Now, with enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra are forced to fight their way onto one of the evacuating craft, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit. But the warship could be the least of their problems. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet's AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their biggest threat; and nobody in charge will say what's really going on. As Kady plunges into a web of data hacking to get to the truth, it's clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: Ezra. Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents--including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more-- Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes. " Brace yourself , because you're about to be immersed in a mindscape that you'll never want to leave ." -- Marie Lu, author of the bestselling Legend series " Prepare yourselves for Illuminae ." -- EW.com " You're not in for an ordinary novel experience . . . ." -- Bustle.com "A truly interactive experience. . . . A fantastically fun ride." -- MTV.com Don't miss the rest of the series The Illuminae Files_02: GEMINA The Illuminae Files_03 -- title to be revealed

Jumpy goodness

I just. NO WORDS!!! I have been mass reading all day so I could finish this and it was so worth it. I can not wait to read the rest of the series... Now I need to order them.

Space! Viruses! Evil Robots!

Great mix of science fiction. Also love the unique writing format.

Well that was a wild ride!

Ebook could never do this justice. This book is art. In itself, that was amazing to have in my hands. This was written in such a unique format. A compilation of chats, emails, maps of battleships, and more. It reminded me a bit of Battlestar Galactica on the urgency of impending doom. A bit Asimov with an AI you aren't sure is good or bad. A twist of Umbrella Corporation. I was hesitant at the formatting at how it would be, but I got sucked in so quickly and couldn't put it down.

Super Duper Good!

Oh my... This book was great. It's probably my new favorite book, ever. It sucks you right in and doesn't let go. There's so much going on, a little bit for everyone. Science fiction, horror (I thought so, but I'm a scaredy cat, so), and some romance. Ugh, it was so good. Anyway, it's told through different files, like interviews and chats and etc. The story is stunning and the pages are beautiful. This isn't the most professional review, but hopefully, I got my point across... Yeah, I would definitely recommend.
