Another wonderful book in the series but in Italian

The theme of the book is in the title, the purgatory of the angel, and with masterly flourish, De Giovanni spins it around and demonstrates its various meanings to the characters. The story of Commissioner Riccardi and Enrica progresses as do the subplots of the various characters from the earlier books. I did sense that the writing was a bit rushed because the descriptions of Naples seemed abbreviated compared to the earlier novels. As usual, the mystery to be solved, a murder, was challenging both for Ricciardi and the reader and its solution was insidious and unexpected. My only complaint is with the publisher who has apparently stopped issuing the books in English translations which makes reading more difficult for a native English speaker. I hope that they will re-consider because it will encourage more readers of the series to follow the progress of the interesting characters that the author has created.
