If You Only Knew

Ah, yes! It was serendipity. Two people, strangers even, who'd never laid eyes on one another before meeting under the right conditions. So, the flame is lit! Whatever ignited it though, perhaps a mutual attraction, at first glance, "we" (at least you - and you hoped them too) knew it was meant to be. Thus, your first thought in that chance encounter was, "So this is love!" Oh, to indulge the "idea" of romance! But, ah, yes, hopelessly so because you blew it, being too shy to ask for their contact details much less a date to be able to see them again. So, you two parted and, well, darn it! Now you're left wondering, "What if?" Ah, yes. Is it, "Oh, well" for you and them then? I mean, how can you conceivably find someone you have had a 'missed connection' with since a frontier has come between you two now? Afterwards, you're convinced you'd have better luck with trying to pick out a needle in a haystack. Do you just give up then? Well, in "If You Only Knew" the author presents a book of sonnets that seeks to describe the thoughts and feelings that come with the experience of a 'missed connection.' An experience which we've all had. In it, the author hopes readers will be led to the "one" they've been looking for in their search. After all, we all may have had one who's been a first love, but as the author notes, we'll meet the one who's right for us eventually if we love first.
