Every serious development shop should have one

This collection of standards are invaluable for any serious software developer. They are each compact enough to read and refer to easily, yet contain an amazing amount of information.As I move from job to job, I often find local standards that cover part of an IEEE standard, but never the breadth, nor the consistency as those contained within this book. Even if I do not follow a particular standard, reading the standard before or after I do the work, I am reminded of things that I should do, and do now.I find the glossary section particularly useful, as within the IT industry people often mean different thing when using the same word, and the glossary is invaluable for settling these types of arguments.I am constantly having to track this book down from other people who have borrowed it. I can only succeed because not everyone on the floor has read it, so most people do not know how good it is.I am currently looking toward buying the latest edition of these standards, but am being held back by the price tag, and that the new version is a 4 volume set, and this edition is only one.
