Idle Borders tells the story of Doctor Cliff Malcom, a young American doctor searching for a way to make a difference in his life. In a near future setting of the Central African Republic (CAR), Cliff signs up with Doctors Without Borders, which is reentering the country after violent outbreaks drove the program out a few years prior. Cliff meets doctors from all over the world on his team, experiences the local culture, and faces medical predicaments that no schooling could have prepared him for. The doctors must come to terms with their limited effect in the region and the politics in their own organization.
