At the same time tender, astute, cynical, languid and sensual, the poems play on the themes of fauns, of the pastoral, of love from a completely pagan point of view with a touch of rococo. Light and playful, they take us to fantasy and laughter. While touching on timeless themes, they re written from a modern perspective that makes them today both valuable and poignant. Here Dayd?-Tolson celebrates the beautiful artifice, laments the passing of time, contemplates our unavoidable death. In short, his texts lie decisively, but in doing so they speak of the deepest truths.
