Anti-Communist literature is the most representative literary genre in Taiwan in the 1950s. Most anti-Communist literature was written by mainland authors who followed Chiang Kai-shek to Taiwan after losing the mainland. Their works reflected the political ideology of the Chinese Nationalist Party and a sense of anti-Communism, patriotism, and nostalgia. This book reexamines anti-Communist literature on the whole and the development of literary system in 1950s Taiwan. It also explores the connections between the narrative structure and literary history, and their influences of Realism literature values on Taiwan's literary environment of the 1950s.
